The new OE Smol Manual Coffee Grinder is a full range grinder which incorporates many of the innovative design & engineering concepts of our previous hand coffee grinders in a travel friendly size. As with all of our portable coffee grinders, it uses the Etzinger hardened steel burr set (48mm OD Ring Burr, 32mm Cone Burr, made in Lichtenstein.) The aluminum parts of the grinder are all anodized. The hopper tube is machined, and has removable silicone bands for enhanced grip. Beans are added through a side port in the hopper, sealed with a silicone plug, and the practical capacity is about 30 grams of coffee beans. The drive train - handle through the burr set - is all stainless steel. The axle is supported by dual NTN Japan Roller Bearings.

The adjustment disk system rides on stainless steel needle bearings which results in a very smooth turning action. The grinding burr is completely open for easy cleaning, above an uncoated, static dissipative, stainless steel grounds catch jar. The adjustment system is Truly Stepless, built on a 0.5mm pitch thread. Grind size adjustment is easily changed and monitored using a quadrant divided Vernier scale on the top of the handle. Each mark of the scale corresponds to about 10 microns of Vertical Burr Movement. This system allows the user to establish and monitor true zero, keeping the actual Vertical Burr Movement (and therefore burr gap), accurate, and relevant throughout the life of the grinder. The grounds jar securely attaches with an engineered silicone lip seal system, which is replaceable if need be. The Smol uses a full size, solid, magnetically attached Acetal knob. The Smol comes with a soft waffle weave cotton zipper bag.
