Description

This is a Black Walnut base with a Cherry hardwood sliding insert for the Cafelat Robot. The slider has 2 rubber 'locator's - one for the espresso cup, and one for a waste cup, and plenty of room for any scale that will fit between the legs of the Robot. The slider base eliminates that sometimes messy 'dance' at the end of the shot where you remove the cup/scale, and quickly grab the waste cup to try and catch those drips! Invariably you'll miss some, but with the slider that problem is solved! It does change, in our opinion, the Robot workflow because you get a kind of presentation at the end - a TA DA! Moment. And a cleaner base. A tiny learning curve is involved - when you finish, you need to life the handles slightly, and move the slider forward - the waste cup will stop directly below the portafilter - it just takes a very minor bit of practice to get that timing down perfectly. Like our other hardwood bases there are cork feet on the bottom that will not mark or mar any counter. The wood is finished with several coats of varnish and a final coat of wax.
