 Description
This kit is for the assembly of what we call the "top rail" of the  Olympia machines.   Pre 1982 machines have a full square channel across to top front of the boiler which creates the steam passage for both the steam faucet and the pressure safety valve....on these machines you will need the full kit which is composed of
  • one teflon washer for the pressure safety valve
  • one EPDM o ring that seals between the stainless face plate and the brass channel
  • one copper crush washer applied under the rear steam faucet cap nut
1982 machines and later have a half channel  which holds the pressure safety valve and sight glass top housing and the steam faucet is supplied by a metal tube.    These machines require only the teflon washer to seal the pressure safety valve.   The copper crush washer can also be used here if you choose.

The OEM specs for the pressure safety valve seal is a copper washer, but after rebuilding dozens of Olympia machines we have observed that the copper washer in the pressure safety valve position is one of the more problematic seals to install, and once it is crushed, it cannot be reused.  The teflon seal in this position allows one to simply hand tighten the valve with a 17mm wrench...no hammer tightening required, and the pressure valve can be removed and the seal reused.   From a technician's point of view, a big improvement.   

We offer this as a universal kit for all Olympia models and years.
