 Description
This thick rubber counter pad is the 3rd upgrade for the Pharos Hand Coffee Grinder since it's introduction on April 1, 2011.  The first change was an internal funnel to meet the demand for an easier emptying system, the second change was modifying the grind adjustment system, to separate the handle from the adjustment routine.  Both of these updates were made after careful consideration & experimentation to be sure the change was merited (and they were!).  The counter pad update has been made to address the issues some users had with the Pharos when using it on the counter for grinding - for some people the 3 rubber foot design led to difficulty in holding the grinder still while using with tight grind settings.    For them, it seemed unstable on the counter, and we felt the same way, so we have worked out a thick rubber counter pad which completely supports the grinder all the way around.  Slightly taller than the rubber feet, and it has holes to accommodate all of the functional elements on the bottom of the grinder - it essentially functions as a single giant foot, and completely eliminates instability issues!   

The pad is made of dense, 100% post consumer recycled rubber, the material has a trade name of Elephant Bark.   It is non marking, and has a slightly textured surface which resists showing scuffs & soiling.  Cleanable with a simple rinse off & dry.  The pad is not permanently affixed to the bottom plate, although if this fits with your routine it would be simple for you to do with double stick tape, or other appropriate adhesive.
