Description

This is a universal kit for heating elements that are shorted at the exterior terminal end or elements that have the seal and insulating collar either missing or degraded. The kit consists of 5ml sealed glass jar of Glyptal (electrical insulating sealant paint....very old school product), a slice of high temp epoxy putty (enough to repack about 10 element ends if you use it right) and 4 Teflon insulating collars (enough for a 4 post La Pavoni).

We have experimented with rejuvenating the heating element terminals on various machines and have succeeded in curing elements with terminals that have shorted to the base plate (usually showing little or no packing at the element end) and use this method of sealing and re-collaring terminals on all of our rebuilds, even if the element is not shorted (all it takes when the element has crumbly sealant is for it to get wet and then it will be a shorted element).
