Description
We are often asked about dosing the portafilter basket when using a hand grinder. At first we emptied the drawer or catch cup into a bowl and used a spoon to dose the basket. We have tried pouring directly from the drawer into the filter basket and other somewhat messy (and wasteful) methods and have come to use this scraper scoop exclusively for a simple easy one handed method of hand grinder dosing. Simply empty the drawer into the curved stainless steel handle of the scraper scoop, give a few taps of the finger to settle the grinds into the curve, and pour/tap into the portafilter basket. We use the end of the scoop to distribulte the grounds in the basket and gently compress to fit the entire dose. Once you get good at it you can use the flat nylon scraper part to flatten and dress the coffee in the basket before tamping. Works for us.....likely will work for you too! Choose Red, or Blue!
