Along with a good grinder, and a stable machine, an accurate, reliable dosing scale is a critical factor in dialing in the Espresso Shot. We have found that the more attention we paid to our portafilter dosing weights, the better we felt about the control of the process, and the end result - BLISS! We all have different needs, but in general, a scale for use in Espresso making should be accurate, have a resolution of less than one gram, and not take up too much precious counter space.
